Biography
DRAGOSLAVA STANKOVIC – DRAGICA
BIOGRAPHY:
Dragoslava Stankovic – Dragica was born on 23rd of April 1950, in Glusci, Macva where she lived until her legal age. Already in elementary school she started painting and showed a great interest in arts. In August 1971, she went to West Germany to work, and there became an accomplished painter. In order to connect with artistic circles she used to visit galleries and museums and absorbed techniques and skills of famous artists.
Her first two independent exhibitions were held in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany (1992). From 1992, she lived both in Serbia and Germany, without neglecting arts in her life. She joined different art Associations in Sabac like “Nama art”, “Krug 10”, the Association of Artists of Sabac and “Djuro Salaj” – “Academy 28” in Belgrade. Along with other members of Association “Nama art” she presented her work in twenty different collective exhibitions, the same number of exhibitions with Association “Djuro Salaj”. With the Association of Artists of Sabac she had more than twenty collective exhibitions and a few with “Krug 10”.
Except from Germany she had solo exhibitions in “Cigota” Institute on Zlatibor (2002), in Belgrade (2010), Sabac (2010), Paris (2014) and Manhattan in New York (2016) upon invitation from the gallery director, Sergey Grigorin.
By the end of 2016 she will have a solo exhibition in “Amsterdam Whitney Gallery” in New York and in the summer of 2017 in Ufa, Russian Federation, upon invitation.

Her paintings were awarded many times: The Silver Charter (2010) in Vrnjacka Banja, third award in The Spring Exhibition in Belgrade on the subject “My City” (2010), Special Award in themed exhibition “Light”, Award for the painting “Belgrade in the Night” in “Djuro Salaj” Gallery in Belgrade (2011), Award in the collective exhibition in Belgrade, “Academy 28”, Certificate USA (2012) and awards and certificates from other art competitions in Europe and Canada.
Dragoslava Stankovic uses different painting techniques, but also experiments a lot. Some of them are: oil on canvas, acrylic, aquarelle, oil pastel, dry pastel and combined technique. Its rich colours and reliefs don’t leave anybody feeling indifferent and her experimenting with painting material draws a lot of attention. The mix of oil paints and sand makes her unique, not only in Serbia, but worldwide. Her paintings are situated in Europe and other continents.
I participated in my work at the international exhibition with the association "LIKUM" in Vojvodina, the town of Feketić, where my painting was awarded with the golden diploma of Serbia.
