This painting is from a series of Landscapes in Motion. All the artworks in this collection are inspired by the fast pace of life today. 

I seek a link between the classical landscapes of the past and what might be the modern version, a busy, hurried cityscape.

I begin by playing with my camera in the streets, experimenting by making blurry photos in motion. The most interesting experiments I transport to the canvases. I find it interesting that the photos I make don't really hold any photographic merit or quality but I see some potential to translate them into paintings. 

Bicycles are a mini-series within this series, and Bicycle II is a part of that of course. The particular photo I used as inspiration for this painting was made in the streets of Vienna, Austria.
