Božica Rakić
Biography
Božica Rakić (b. 1981, Valjevo) is a visual artist working primarily in black and white, with a strong focus on introspection, subtle emotional depth, and psychological tension. A graduate in Turkish language and literature, she developed her artistic voice independently, as a self-taught creator outside of academic frameworks.
She is a recipient of an award at the prestigious Chianciano Biennale in Italy. Her work has been exhibited at the International Biennial of Miniature Art, and she has held a solo exhibition. Božica was also selected for 100 Emerging Women Artists on the Rise, marking her growing international recognition.
Her visual language speaks through graphite, ink, and grayscale digital forms—exploring themes of fractured identity, quiet rebellion, and unspoken truths. A mother of twins, Božica turns personal upheaval into artistic trace, creating a subtle archive of what often remains invisible.
