The purpose of light

The lighthouse is not a ship; it does not sail, it does not change the horizon. It stands — alone, quiet, and steadfast — while winds rage and waves roar. It is not made to flee from the storm, but to face it.

Its light does not seek attention, but guides. It is a beacon for the lost, a support for the wandering, strength for those sailing through darkness.

The lighthouse will never know the names of the ships it saved. It will never hear the stories of sailors who reached the shore thanks to it. It simply shines — persistently, without question, without reward.

Because that is its purpose.
