Vranje's "White Bridge" BRIDGE OF LOVE
AND LEGEND* - Legend has it that the bridge was built by a Turkish mother, Ayse, in memory of the unfortunate love of her daughter and a Serbian shepherd named Stojan. A plaque, known as a tarih, was placed on the bridge with an inscription in Turkish: "Cursed be he who separates what love has united."
