Gordana Andjelkovic – Artist Biography
I was born in 1959 in Zemun. I completed Zemun Gymnasium, and in 1982 I graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. Today I live and create in Nis.
I am a self-taught artist with a deep passion for painting, which began during my student years. Art has always been an essential part of my life, alongside poetry, which I also practice.
My artistic expression is based on realism, and I work exclusively with the technique of oil on canvas. Through my paintings, I strive to evoke the beauty of everyday life, human emotions, and nature—paying great attention to detail, light, and atmosphere.
In 2010, I participated as an amateur painter in an art colony in Bojnik, which further encouraged my artistic development.
At the beginning of 2026, I became a member of the Luna art association from Nis, and the first exhibition I participated in as a member of the association was "Remarkable Women of Serbia."
Each of my paintings tells a personal story and carries emotional depth, with the desire to bring warmth and sincerity into the space it enters.
